When you're thinking about selling your car, you'll have to go through the usual process of deciding what to fix and what to leave as it is. Unless your car is relatively new and well maintained, it's likely to have a number of issues that require your attention. Such issues can be a problem when you're trying to sell the car.

Aesthetics Matter
Regardless of how good the rest of the car is, a crack in your windshield is the kind of damage that most buyers are unlikely to miss. Damage that is too obvious can raise doubts in the mind of the buyer.

These are the types of questions you don't want your buyers to be asking themselves when you're about to seal the deal. They may decide to walk away, or you may be forced to give them a substantial discount.
Cost-Benefit Analysis
One of the main reasons why car owners don't make certain repairs before selling their cars is because the amount of value the repairs will add will be much less than what they'll spend to make the repairs.
This is an important fact to consider when you're deciding on which repairs you should make before selling the car because you could spend a lot more than you could ever recover from the sale.
However, repairing a windshield is unlikely to fall under this category. Windshield repair jobs are relatively affordable, and this means it's almost always worth it to repair.
The General State of the Car
A cracked windshield may stick out in a relatively used car that you're trying to sell to someone who hopes to use it as their everyday car. However, a cracked windshield may not seem out of place if the rest of the car seems to be falling apart. Where a few aesthetic changes can't hide the many internal faults of the car, repairing the auto glass won't do much.
Who is the Buyer?
If the car is being sold to someone who is mainly interested in scavenging for parts, don't bother with repairs such as auto glass. If the car isn't going back on the road, a repaired windshield is unlikely to change the price.
